Currently Recruiting Guildmates!
We are looking for fellow players who want a fun gaming experience, good friends and see end game content. We are currently looking for members to fill out our 10 man groups. We currently run 3-5 10 man groups per week and one 25 man per week and are always looking to expand both in numbers and time offerings of the raids. Our members range from newly-formed 80's to experienced well geared raiders who still raid for fun. The goal is to get our groups familiar with each other and geared through ICC and beyond.
We are not conerned about your gear, how long you have played or even your stats. We are concerned with this being a good fit for each of us. We believe that the quality of the game is about the quality of the player not the quality of the gear or stats, those will come in time.
Please make sure you read the rest of this section to learn more about us and then read the policies page. It is long, it is boring, but it helps you understand what we are about and eliminates the confusion that in turn can cause drama, which is just not tolerated.
Who are we?
Raid Zone is made up of a variety of levels and classes and the guild's focus is Wrath of the Lich King content (soon to be Cataclysm) and beyond. That means a majority of our active members are focused on downing the Lich King and leveling quickly in Cataclysm to raid that content. We are a casual raiding; this means we do not progress quickly like hardcore raiders. The idea is to enjoy the game and play at a pace suited for players who have real life commitments that do not allow them to raid 5 to 7 days per week, several hours per day. Our commitment, combined with our relaxed raiding requirements for end game content make Raid Zone the perfect guild for those with families as well as other responsibilities and engagements outside of WoW, while still pursuing end game content.
Raiding Schedule
The raid schedule currently consists of:
ICC Raids
Mondays 6:00 Server for Guilds 25 Main and Alts Run
Tue/Wed/Thur 6:00 Server for Destroy's 10 Man Core Group
Tue/Wed/Thur 6:00 Server for Becky's 10 Man Core Group
Tue/Wed/Thur 6:00 Server Multiple 10 Man Core Groups - Check the guild calendar (Currently LF a Raid Leader, contact Destroy if interested)
Fri/Sat/Sun 6:00 Server for Raid Zone Progression Group
We add more groups when needed on any night or sometimes on the weekends if time allows.
Fun Raids
The guild also publishes "fun raids" for members to go back and complete Vanilla WoW Raids, BC Raids and even Naxx, Ulduar and others.
We do not penalize for not attending raids as we find this counter productive to our goals of having a fun casual guild.
Secondary raid nights are for guildies that need gear upgrades or would like to run their alts and are purely optional with no attendance requirements. This is a great way to gear up your toon with guild help or just keep active in content. These will be scheduled on the guild calendar a week at a time depending on the needs of the guild.
Raid Experience
It is not required that you have raid experience to join us. All of us had 0 raid experience at one point so why limit others? Our core members currently have raid experience with full clears in Naxx 10, Naxx 25, OS 10, OS 25, EoE 10, EoE 25, Ony 10, Ony 25, VoA 10, VoA 25, Ulduar 10, Ulduar 25 man, TotC 10, TotC 25 and partial clears in both ICC 10 and 25. Bottom line is that we have enough experience to help our members get where they want to go and have some fun along the way.
For those that have not raided before and need gear, we will assist you in getting geared by running Heroics with you on alternative nights as well as getting you into raids as soon as possible. Our mission is to assist all our guildies with their gear needs so they can participate at whatever levels of raiding they desire. Having said that, we also like to see motivated players who obtain their gear by running heroics and crafting gear so they can run in ICC with us. There are no handouts.
A Typical Raid
We like our members to be ready at the assigned server time so we can begin summoning and begin the raid shortly thereafter. We do ask you to bring every potion/flask/buff food you might need for the raid and to use them for the raid. Everyone participating should plan on 3 hours of raid time, if you cannot then just let the raid leader know so that we can plan for replacements. Everyone is expected to have ventrilo to hear what the directions are, but you are not required to speak. Feel free to ask questions about fights or strategies before a fight so that you are comfortable with assignments. We do not speed run our raids, we do keep them moving but because we are a casual raiding guild we are not trying to complete a full clear in record time even though we know it is possible. Some weeks raids will go better than others, we just ask everyone to keep a positive attitude regardless of how well or how fast we are going. Remember that this mission of the guild is to have fun and make it a great experience not clear content the fastest.
Our raids may run into stumbling blocks at times and when this occurs we will vote on what the raid team wants to do, such as move to another wing or boss or call it for the night.
We encourage our raid team to speak up in vent when appropriate, have some fun in vent as long as it is not at the expense of someone else in the raid, and to let us know what challenges you are having with a particular fight.
